A regular Multilogin API token lasts 30 minutes, so it works well for quick requests. For longer-running or repeated API work, generate an automation token with the expiration period you need.

➡️ Switch to the Multilogin workspace you want to use → click “Info” → click “Copy” next to “API token”. In Postman, open “Workspace Automation Token” → paste the API token as Bearer Token → set expiration_period → click “Send”.

Before you start

You’ll need Postman with the Multilogin API collection imported:

1. Install Postman
2. Open the Multilogin API documentation and click “Run in Postman”
3. Click “Import”

Step 1: copy the API token for the right workspace

The quickest way to get your API token is to copy it directly from the Multilogin dashboard.

1. Click “Info” in the bottom-left corner of the main Multilogin window
2. Find “API token” in the “Information” window and click “Copy”

You’ll see the “API token copied” confirmation when the token is saved to your clipboard.

Step 2: generate the automation token

1. Open “Workspace Automation Token”
2. Open “Authorization”
3. Select “Bearer Token”
4. Paste the API token from Step 1
5. Open “Params” and enter the required expiration_period
6. Click “Send”

A successful request returns status 200 and your automation token.

Step 3: use the automation token in Postman

Add the automation token to the main “Multilogin API” collection so requests can use it automatically:

1. Open the main “Multilogin API” collection
2. Go to “Authorization”
3. Select “Bearer Token”
4. Paste the automation token into “Token”

Requests that inherit authorization from the collection will now use this token.

FAQ

Why am I getting 401 – Incorrect JWT token?

First, make sure you pasted the API token, not the Workspace ID or another value.

If the API token has expired, switch to the target workspace in Multilogin and copy a fresh one from “Info”.

Why am I getting 400 – Incorrect expiration period?

The expiration_period value isn’t in the expected format. Check the “Description” column in “Workspace Automation Token” for supported values.

How long does the regular API token last?

The API token copied from “Info” expires after 30 minutes. Use it to generate an automation token when you need longer-lasting authentication.
