How to auto-launch the desktop app in Multilogin

To make the app start automatically after each restart, choose your OS and follow the steps.

Windows

  1. Copy the shortcut of an app (you can find and make a shortcut out of MLXDesktopApp.exe on the desktop or in the following directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Multilogin App
  2. Press Win+R
  3. Type shell:startup in the “Run” window
  4. Paste the shortcut in the “Start-up” folder
 
 

macOS

  1. Click Apple Menu → System Settings
  2. Select General in the sidebar
  3. Scroll and click Login Items & Extensions
  4. In the “Open at Login”, click the “+” button

  5. Click “Applications” → “Multilogin App” → “Open”

Linux

Keep in mind that the article is written for Ubuntu. The other distributions are not officially supported.

 
  1. Click “Show Apps” button (in the left bottom corner)
  2. Click “Startup Applications”

  3. Click “Add” → “Browse”

  4. Choose “Other Locations” and go to the following directory: Computer → opt/mlxapp/ and choose desktop.bin
  5. Make a name for the program and click “Add”

How to auto-launch the agent for web interface

If you use the web interface, the steps above are still applicable. But the directories and the executable will be different:

  1. Windows: 
    1. Directory: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Multilogin
    2. Executable: agent.exe
  2. macOS:
    1. Executable: Multilogin
  3. Linux: 
    1. Directory: opt/mlx/
    2. Executable: agent.bin
