How to create Android cloud phones

Written by Yelena V ( Updated on February 4th, 2026 )

Who can use this feature?

  • 👨‍💻 Account owner and all team members
  • 💰 Available on all plans

What cloud phones are

Cloud phones are virtual Android devices in Multilogin that simulate real phone environments. They help you manage social media accounts, browse the web, and use apps with privacy and freedom from account restrictions.

Here's why they matter:

  • Realistic simulations: choose from different device models, brands, and Android versions (10–15)
  • Cost efficiency: pay only for the time you use, saving on proxy consumption

How to create a cloud phone

Creating a cloud phone is fast and simple. First, you’ll see a selector in the top-left corner where you can choose between “Browser” and “Mobile”. Select “Mobile” and click “Create” to access the settings.

Most settings come pre-filled, so you don’t need to worry about them. Simply name the phone, check the proxy, and click “Create”. Let’s walk through each section you’ll see when creating a cloud phone.

General settings

Phone name

Good news: only you (and your team, if shared) can see your phone names – websites or apps can’t. So feel free to name them whatever helps you stay organized! Here are some quick tips:

  • Be specific: include the platform or purpose (e.g., “FB_Ad_Team1” or “Amazon_Seller_UK”)
  • Keep it short & readable: 2–4 words max (e.g., “LinkedIn_LeadGen_Alice”)
  • Follow a naming rule (if in a team): so everyone stays in sync and finds what they need faster

Number of phones

You can create one or multiple cloud phones in a single setup. When creating multiple phones at once, Multilogin will generate clones of the same phone.

Important to know:

  • All cloned phones will have exactly the same settings – including device configuration, proxy setup, network type, tags, and notes (if added)
  • You can create up to 100 phones at once
  • Your plan limit still applies (if your plan allows 10 profiles, you can only create 10; if your plan allows 300 profiles, you can still only create 100 in one batch)

After creation, you can edit each phone individually.

Tags

Add up to 10 color-coded tags per phone, making it super easy to group, filter, and find what you need – fast. Use them for clients, workflows, or anything else that fits your setup.

Why use tags?

  • Find phones quickly with tag-based filtering
  • Keep things tidy with reusable, workspace-wide labels

➡️ Check out the full guide to start tagging like a pro.

Note

The notes feature lets you add short comments to individual phones or entire folders. It’s perfect for reminders, status updates, or sharing quick context with your team (max 1500 characters).

Folder

Organize phones into custom folders – perfect for sorting by client, project, or status. Add notes, drag and drop phones, and keep your dashboard clutter-free.

Browser and cloud phones use separate folder systems. That means:

  • Cloud phones can only be placed in phone folders
  • Browser profiles can only be placed in browser folders
  • Folders are not shared or synced between the two types

➡️ Check the full guide to get organized in just a few clicks.

Proxy settings

Multilogin

Ready to level up your privacy game? With Multilogin’s built-in proxy, you get instant access to over 30M premium residential and mobile IPs, plus bonus traffic with every paid plan.

Unlock powerful features available only with Multilogin proxy:

  • Mobile and residential proxy switch
  • ISP selector
  • Sticky session duration control

Quick to set up. Powerful under the hood. ➡️ Check out the full Multilogin proxy guide to get started.

Custom

Prefer using proxies from your go-to provider? No problem. Multilogin lets you connect any HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5 proxy in just a few clicks. Whether it’s password- or IP-authenticated, setup is quick and fully customizable.

What you’ll need:

  • Proxy type (HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5)
  • Proxy IP and port
  • Login credentials (if required)

➡️ Check out the full guide on using custom proxies in Multilogin to get started.

Template

Tired of setting up proxies? The proxy template manager in Multilogin lets you save your custom or Multilogin proxy settings as templates – so you can apply them to multiple profiles or phones in seconds.

Why use it?

  • Apply one template to many profiles or phones fast
  • Keep settings organized by template (IP type, rotation, location, etc.)
  • Test proxies with one click before applying

Simple setup, serious time-saver. ➡️ Dive into the full guide on proxy templates to streamline your workflow.

Device info

OS version

This is the Android version your phone runs on (Android 10–15).

What to choose:

  • Android 12–15 → best for modern apps and ads
  • Older versions → only if a specific app needs it

Extra

Network

The network type defines how your cloud phone connects to the internet and how it appears to apps and websites.

Wi-Fi

Cellular (Android 12 and higher)

When to use it

When using residential, ISP, or static proxies

When using mobile or rotating proxies

How the phone behaves

Phone appears connected to a Wi-Fi network, no mobile signal shown

Phone shows SIM and mobile signal (LTE/5G), behaves like real mobile data

Best for

Account setup, warm-up, stable long sessions, app testing

Social media apps, mobile ads, apps that expect carrier signals

Phone number

Phone numbers are used when an app requires SMS verification, such as during registration or login. When a cloud phone is running, it can receive SMS messages like a real phone.

What to choose:

  • Auto-generated number: get a random number from our library for existing accounts that don’t need verification, as it can’t receive SMS
  • Custom number: enter your real SIM number from your provider to receive SMS verification directly to your cloud phone

Device brand

This setting defines the manufacturer of the virtual phone (for example, Samsung, Google, Oppo).

What to choose:

  • Random (default): Multilogin picks a popular brand for you
  • Custom: manually select a brand
