How to replace Mimic icon in Multilogin on Windows
If you're taking a screenshot in Multilogin and want to swap out the default profile icon, you’ll need to do it manually. But don’t worry – we’ve got you covered with this easy step-by-step guide!
This solution works for Windows only.
Step 1: download and install Resource hacker
- Head to the official website and download Resource hacker
- Install it and launch the app
Step 2: find the Chrome executable file
- In the Resource hacker, click “File” → “Open”

Navigate to the following folder:
- Multilogin X:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\mlx\deps
- Multilogin 6:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\.multiloginapp.com\data\deps\com\Multiloginapp\browser-mimic
- Multilogin X:
- Open the folder with the latest browser version

Select the executable file
chrome.exe
and open it:
Multilogin X

Step 3: swap out the icon
- In Resource hacker, find the “Icons” folder
- Right-click on the folder and select “Replace icon” and click “Open file with new icon”
- To find the
chrome.exe
file for icon replacement, locate it in the regular Chrome browser folder atC:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application
- After making the replacement, click “Replace” and then “Save”
Step 4: repeat for chrome.dll

Open
chrome.dll
in the same Multilogin directory - Follow the same steps to replace the icon
Step 5: final preparations
- Restart your computer
- Launch a Mimic profile in Multilogin: it will now show your new Chrome icon!
