Which Multilogin automation tool should I use?
In Multilogin, some automation tools help you manage cloud phones and browser profiles, while others let you perform actions inside them. Some can do both.
Choose the tool based on what you want to automate:
- 📱🖥️ Manage cloud phones and browser profiles using AI prompts → Multilogin OpenClaw skill
- 📱 Let AI agents perform actions inside Android apps → Multilogin cloud phone agent toolkit
- 📱🖥️ Manage profiles through API requests, scripts, or integrations → Multilogin API
- 📱🖥️ Manage profiles using terminal commands → Multilogin CLI
- 📱 Run Android commands, transfer files, or take screenshots → ADB
- 📱 Automate tapping, typing, and navigating Android apps → Appium
- 🖥️ Automate website interactions inside browser profiles → Selenium, Playwright, or Puppeteer
- 🖥️ Launch browser profiles and run automation scripts → Script runner
Keep in mind that Multilogin doesn't currently support Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools.
Who can use automation?
- 👨💻 Account owner and all team members (access to features depends on roles)
- 💰 Available on Pro 10 and higher plans
📱🖥️ Manage Multilogin using AI prompts
Use the official Multilogin OpenClaw skill to automate Multilogin tasks through AI prompts.
- Profile type: cloud phones and browser profiles
- What it does: creates, lists, starts, stops, and organizes profiles, with additional commands for proxies, files, scripts, workspaces, and ADB access
- Actions inside profiles: not directly — requires additional tools for website and Android app interactions
- What you need: Multilogin, OpenClaw with a connected AI provider, and the official Multilogin skill
For example, you can ask OpenClaw to show your cloud phones and start a specific one. Read more in How to use OpenClaw skill for Multilogin.
📱Let AI agents work inside Android apps
Use the Multilogin cloud phone agent toolkit to automate Android app interactions with a compatible AI agent.
- Profile type: cloud phones only
- What it does: starts a cloud phone, connects through ADB, and stops the phone when the task finishes
- Actions inside profiles: yes – the AI agent can inspect screenshots, tap buttons, enter text, and navigate app screens
- What you need: Multilogin, Python 3.9+, ADB, and a compatible AI agent
For example, you can ask an AI agent to open an Android app, navigate its screens, and complete a repetitive task. Read more in How to connect AI agents to Multilogin cloud phones.
📱🖥️ Manage profiles with API or CLI
Both tools let you manage Multilogin cloud phones and browser without using the dashboard for every action. The main difference is how you send commands.
Multilogin API
Use the Multilogin API to manage profiles through requests sent from scripts, integrations, or other software.
- Profile type: cloud phones and browser profiles
- What it does: creates, updates, starts, stops, and manages profiles, folders, and other Multilogin resources
- Actions inside profiles: not directly — can start supported scripts or enable ADB access, but other tools handle the interactions
- What you need: Multilogin and a script or API client such as Postman
For example, you can create multiple cloud phones with specific settings using a custom script. Learn more in How to navigate Multilogin API documentation with Postman.
Multilogin CLI
Use Multilogin CLI to manage profiles through commands in Terminal or Command Prompt.
- Profile type: cloud phones and browser profiles
- What it does: creates, updates, starts, stops, and organizes profiles, with additional commands for Script runner and ADB connections
- Actions inside profiles: not directly — can launch browser scripts or connect through ADB, but additional tools handle the interactions
- What you need: Multilogin
For example, you can start several cloud phones using terminal commands before running an Android automation script. Learn more in How to start working with CLI.
📱Control Android cloud phones with ADB
Use ADB (Android Debug Bridge) to send commands directly to running cloud phones.
- Profile type: cloud phones only
- What it does: runs Android commands, installs APKs, transfers files, takes screenshots, and collects logs
- Actions inside profiles: yes — controls Android devices through commands and scripts, but doesn't create or manage Multilogin profiles
- What you need: Multilogin, ADB
For example, you can transfer images to several cloud phones or run commands inside Android apps without opening each phone manually. Read more in How to use ADB in cloud phones.
📱Automate Android app interactions with Appium
Use Appium to run scripts that interact with Android apps.
- Profile type: cloud phones only
- What it does: automates tapping buttons, entering text, scrolling, and navigating app screens
- Actions inside profiles: yes — performs scripted app interactions but doesn't create or manage Multilogin profiles
- What you need: Multilogin, ADB, Appium with the UiAutomator2 driver, and an automation script
For example, you can run a script that opens an Android app, fills out a form, and submits it. Read more in How to automate Pinterest posting on cloud phones with Appium.
🖥️ Automate websites inside browser profiles
Use Selenium, Playwright, or Puppeteer to automate website interactions.
- Profile type: browser profiles only
- What they do: open websites, click buttons, fill out forms, extract data, and interact with page elements
- Actions inside profiles: yes — automate website interactions but don't manage Multilogin profiles by themselves
- What you need: Multilogin, an automation script, and the corresponding framework
Choose the framework based on your programming language and workflow:
- Selenium: supports Python, Java, JavaScript, and other languages — uses WebDriver to control browsers
- Playwright: supports JavaScript, Python, and other languages — includes automatic waiting and element locators
- Puppeteer: supports JavaScript and TypeScript — uses the Chrome DevTools Protocol to control browsers
For example, you can automate filling out product forms in a marketplace seller dashboard. Learn more in How to choose the best automation framework.
🖥️ Launch browser profiles and run scripts with Script runner
Use Multilogin Script runner to launch browser profiles and execute automation scripts through API or CLI.
- Profile type: browser profiles only
- What it does: starts profiles and runs built-in scripts like CookieRobot or your own supported scripts
- Actions inside profiles: yes — performs website interactions defined by the script you run
- What you need: Multilogin and either a built-in script like CookieRobot or your own supported script
For example, you can run CookieRobot across several browser profiles to visit selected websites and collect cookies. Get more details in How to use Script runner with CLI or how to run CookieRobot using Script runner.
