How to complete SMS verification using Multilogin cloud phones
SMS verification can be a bit of a hassle, especially when you need a phone number from a specific country. But don't worry – we'll guide you through the process of setting up SMS verification on Multilogin. You'll be all set in no time!
Here's what you'll need:
- A Multilogin subscription
- A virtual phone number from an SMS provider
Step 1: get your virtual phone number
- Open your SMS provider app
- Select a phone number from the country you need
- Rent the number you’ll use for the verification code
Best practice: match the number country, proxy location, and account region. This makes the setup look natural and avoids issues.
Step 1: set up your cloud phone
Go to your mobile profile list and click “Create”. You can customize settings based on your needs, but here are the key settings we've found work best:
General settings
- Name your profile (e.g., “TikTok Brazil Account”)
- Add a tag and a note (optional but super helpful for staying organized)
- Drop it into a folder so it’s easy to find later
Proxy settings
- Choose Multilogin’s built-in premium proxies
- Select your target country
- Set the protocol to SOCKS5
Device settings
- Choose Android 14 for OS
- Pick Samsung S22 (or another high-performing device)
Extra settings
- Select the cellular network
- For the “Phone number” setting, choose “Custom” and enter the virtual number you got from your SMS provider
The auto-generated number won’t work for SMS verification. Always use a real or virtual number from your SMS provider.
Step 3: start your cloud phone and sign up
- Click “Create” to save your cloud phone setup
- Start your cloud phone
- Open the app you want to sign up for and begin the registration process.
- When asked for a phone number, enter the virtual number you received from your SMS provider
- Request the SMS verification code
- Once you get the code in your SMS provider app, copy and paste it into the registration form
FAQs
How can I avoid SMS verification altogether?
Sometimes, SMS verification can be bypassed using services like Google or Apple ID sign-ups. Some platforms also offer email verification or social media logins, so check if these alternatives are available.
What if I don't receive the SMS verification code?
- Double-check that you’ve entered the correct phone number
- Make sure your SMS provider is working properly
- Wait a minute and request the code again
If the issue persists, you may want to try using a different number or provider.
Why can't I use the auto-generated phone number for SMS verification?
The auto-generated phone number in the cloud phone settings is a placeholder – it can't receive or send SMS codes or calls. Since it's not an active number, it can't be used for SMS verification.
Can apps read the phone number from the cloud phone?
Yes. If you enter a custom phone number in profile settings, it’s not just for display – apps can detect it as part of the device environment.
