What happens if you don't use a proxy in Multilogin

Why do you even need a proxy?

Think of a proxy like a mask you wear online. It hides your real IP address (that’s like your internet ID card) and gives your browser profile a new, secret identity. This way, when you use lots of accounts or visit websites, they don’t know it’s all coming from the same place.

What if you skip the proxy?

If you don’t use a proxy, your profile will use your real IP – the one your internet provider gave you. Here’s what can happen:

  • All your profiles look like they’re from the same spot – that’s a big red flag for websites
  • Websites might think you’re trying to cheat or break the rules and block or ban your accounts
  • Websites will be able to track your real location and identity

Can you use a VPN or hotspot instead?

You can, but it’s not the best move. Here’s why:

  • A VPN changes the IP for your whole internet connection, not just your Multilogin profiles. This can cause problems and leaks
  • A hotspot (like using your phone’s internet) can work, but it’s usually slow and not stable for running many profiles at once
  • Both don’t give you the same control as proxies inside Multilogin

Why are proxies better?

  • Every profile gets its own unique IP – no mix-ups
  • Proxies work only inside Multilogin, so your other apps stay normal
  • You can choose IPs from different countries or cities easily
  • They’re faster and more reliable for handling lots of profiles
