How to manage Android cloud phones with Multilogin API
In Multilogin, you can use the API to manage Android cloud phones without doing everything manually in the dashboard. Create, start, stop, and organize phones, manage files, check their status, and set up ADB connections.
➡️ In Postman, open “Multilogin API” → “Mobile Profile Management” → choose a request → enter the required values → click “Send”.
You can also send these requests directly from your scripts or AI agents. For regular API automation, we recommend an automation token. It lasts longer and allows more requests per minute than a regular API token.
Mobile profiles = cloud phones
In the API documentation, Android cloud phones are called mobile profiles. You'll see this name in request names and parameters.
Who can use automation?
- 👨💻 Account owner and all team members (access to features depends on roles)
- 💰 Available on Pro 10 and higher plans
Create and manage cloud phones
Getting several cloud phones ready for work? You don't need to create, start, or stop each one manually.
The API lets you create phones with the settings you need, update them later, start and stop them, or delete phones you no longer use.
Available requests:
- “Mobile Profile Create”
- “Mobile Profile Start”
- “Mobile Profile Stop”
- “Mobile Profile Update”
- “Mobile Profile Delete”
For example, if you manage accounts for several clients, you can use a script to create cloud phones with the same basic setup and start them when needed.
Find and organize cloud phones
When you're managing lots of phones, it's easy to lose track of which ones belong to which accounts or team members.
These requests help you find cloud phones, check which ones are running, and keep everything organized with folders and tags.
Available requests:
- “Mobile Profile List”
- “Mobile Profile Statuses”
- “Mobile Profile Group Get or Create”
- “Mobile Profile Tag Assign”
- “Mobile Profile Tag Unassign”
For example, you can get a list of your phones, find their IDs, and use those IDs in other API requests.
Set up ADB connections
Need to automate actions inside Android apps? You can use the Multilogin API to set up ADB connections to your cloud phones.
Available requests:
- “Mobile Profile ADB Set”
- “Mobile Profile ADB Info”
These requests help you enable ADB and get the connection details needed for Android automation.
For example, you can start a cloud phone through the API, connect to it using ADB, and then use Appium to interact with an Android app.
The API doesn't control actions inside Android apps by itself
For tapping buttons, entering text, or navigating apps, use ADB, Appium, or a supported AI-agent workflow.
Manage files in your cloud phone library
Working with images, videos, or other files across multiple cloud phones? The API helps you manage files in the shared Library without uploading or organizing everything manually.
Available requests:
- “Mobile File Upload”
- “Mobile File List”
- “Mobile File Delete”
- “Mobile File Tag Assign”
- “Mobile File Tag Unassign”
For example, you can upload files to the Library, find their IDs, and use them in supported cloud phone workflows.
Manage cloud phones in bulk
If you're moving cloud phones between team members or preparing a large batch, doing everything one by one can take a while.
These requests help you export cloud phone data, prepare and check files for bulk import, and transfer phones to teammates.
Available requests:
- “Mobile Profile Export”
- “Import Template Download”
- “Import File Validate”
- “Mobile Profile Transfer”
For example, you can export cloud phone information to an .xlsx file or prepare an import file and check it for errors before creating phones.
Bulk import needs one more step
“Import File Validate” only checks your file. To complete the import, workspace owners and managers can use POST /mobile_profiles/phone/import/confirm with the validation_id returned by validation. The ID is valid for 15 minutes and can only be used once.
Check limits and available settings
Before creating a batch of cloud phones, it's worth checking that you have enough mobile minutes and that your device, location, and proxy settings are supported.
The API has requests to help you find those values instead of guessing.
Available requests:
- “Mobile Profile Limit”
- “Mobile Proxy Check”
- “Phone Brand List”
- “States by Country”
- “Cities by State”
For example, if you're setting up cloud phones for a new region, you can check the available locations and phone models before creating them.
Find the full API details
This article shows you what you can manage with the API, but it doesn't cover every request setting.
The Multilogin API documentation is the main source for:
- Available API requests and their endpoints
- Required parameters and supported values
- Request and response examples
- Limits, conditions, and error details
Check the request before changing or deleting data
If you're updating or deleting cloud phones, library files, or other data, check the relevant request in Postman first. Make sure you understand what it changes and which IDs or values it needs before clicking “Send”.
