How to fix IP leaks when using a proxy
Multilogin is designed to thoroughly protect your browser’s integrity and IP. It creates a secure, reliable environment to mask your identity and prevent leaks. However, in extremely rare cases, issues might pop up – usually when your system timezone is not synced or when a third-party app interferes.
Check out the Multilogin vs. Proxyium comparison – get stronger proxies, better anti-detect, and full multi-account control.
Sync your system timezone
Timezone
If your system timezone isn’t syncing properly, just follow these steps to get it back on track:
Windows
- Disconnect the agent and log out of your Multilogin account
- Go to your Windows settings by clicking "Start" → “Settings”
- Choose the "Time & language" section → “Date & time”
- Enable the "Set time zone automatically" and “Set time automatically” settings, and click “Sync now”

macOS
- Disconnect the agent and log out of your Multilogin account
- Go to System Settings → “General”
- Choose the “Date & Time” section
- Enable the “Set time and date automatically” and “Set time zone automatically using your current location” settings

Can’t sync the date or time because the “Set time zone automatically” option is unavailable? Go to your location settings and turn on your original location to enable it. Once that’s done, the button will become active.
Windows
- Go to your Windows settings by clicking “Start” → “Settings”
- Choose “Privacy & security” → “Location”
- Enable the options “Location services” and "Let apps access your location”
macOS
- Go to “System settings” → “General”
- Choose the “Privacy & Security” section
- Turn on the “Location services”

Disable NordVPN’s Threat Protection feature
What’s happening?
The Threat Protection feature in NordVPN has system-level priority, meaning it overrides settings and forces all browsers (yes, even your regular ones) to use NordVPN's IP. This happens even if the VPN connection is turned off.
If you’re using Multilogin with a proxy, this feature can prevent your proxy IP from working properly, showing NordVPN’s IP instead.
How to fix it?
Here’s the good news – it’s a super easy fix!
- Open NordVPN on your device
- Navigate to the settings and disable “Threat Protection”
- Restart your Multilogin browser profile and check that the proxy IP is now showing correctly.
