Data safety in Multilogin 6: FAQ
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Your master password is the key to all your encrypted session data – things like history, cookies, and open tabs. Because of this, resetting it isn’t just a simple fix – it wipes everything.
What can you do?
- Try to remember it: sounds obvious, but take a moment to think. Maybe you wrote it down somewhere?
- Check your password manager: if you use one, your password might be stored there
- Look for hints: did you use a variation of an old password? A common phrase?
I reset the password through “Forgot password?”. What should I do?
If you used the “Forgot password?” option, your account is now experiencing encryption issues. But don’t worry – you might still be able to recover your data!
Next steps:
- Read the article How to fix "Javax.crypto […] pad block corrupted" error to understand what’s happening
- Remember your old password? Great! If you still recall it, contact support, and we’ll help you restore access to your sessions
How can I change the password without losing access to profiles?
Your Multilogin password can be changed in the application itself: click "My account" → "Change password". After changing the password, please restart the app.
You will not be able to change the password without knowing the current one. If you forgot your password, read the section above.
Will I have the access to my session data after the password change?
Yes, you will. Only resetting the password makes session data inaccessible.
How can I change my Multilogin email address?
Due to current technical limitations, we are unable to change your Multilogin app or billing email address. We understand that this functionality is much needed, and we are working on adding it as soon as possible.
I requested a password reset, but didn’t receive an email
Make sure to check your Spam, Social, and Promo folders. If the email is not there, our support team will be glad to help you further.
How do I log other users out from my Multilogin account?
Use the "Change password" function in the "My account" section: the next time another user starts Multilogin, they will be logged out and will need to input a new password.
