How to fix profile launch issues in Multilogin 6

Written by Yelena V ( Updated on April 7th, 2025 )

Updated on April 7th, 2025

Having trouble launching profiles and getting any of the issues below?

Can't open session

Profile not found

Can't preload profile data

“Launching” profile status

These hiccups are usually caused by:

  • Proxy connection problems
  • Local network issues
  • An expired token

Follow the steps in this article, and you’ll be back on track in no time! 🚀

First things first: test your proxy to ensure it’s working properly in Multilogin. Follow the guide How to test a proxy to check it.

Once you’ve confirmed the proxy isn’t the problem, move on to the steps below to get things running smoothly.

Sync your timezone

Timezone

If you're having trouble with certain features in Multilogin, like sessions not working properly or things getting mixed up, the problem might be that your computer’s timezone isn't syncing right. Don’t worry – here’s how to fix it!

Windows
macOS

Using Multilogin X? Disconnect the agent first.

  1. Log out of your Multilogin account
  2. Go to your Windows settings by clicking "Start" → “Settings”
  3. Choose the "Time & language" section → “Date & time”
  4. Enable the "Set time zone automatically" and “Set time automatically” settings, and click “Sync now”

Using Multilogin X? Disconnect the agent first.

  1. Log out of your Multilogin account
  2. Go to “System Settings” → “General”
  3. Choose the “Date & Time” section
  4. Enable the “Set time and date automatically” and “Set time zone automatically using your current location” settings
Date and time

Can’t sync the date or time because the “Set time zone automatically” option is unavailable? Go to your location settings and turn on your original location to enable it. Once that’s done, the button will become active.

Windows
macOS
  1. Go to your Windows settings by clicking “Start” → “Settings”
  2. Choose “Privacy & security” → “Location”
  3. Enable the options “Location services” and "Let apps access your location”

  1. Go to “System settings” → “Privacy & Security”
  2. Turn on the “Location services” feature

Disable service worker cache (Mimic only)

Sometimes, profiles struggle to launch if there’s too much browser data to download. Here’s how to speed things up:

  1. Navigate to “Profile settings” → “Advanced” → “Storage options”
  2. Disable “Service worker cache” and click “Update profile”
  3. Start and close the profile, and wait for synchronization to finish – this should make the next launch faster!

In the same window, you can also disable saving history, passwords, and bookmarks for an extra boost.

Check 3rd-party apps

3rd-party apps

Some apps on your computer, like antivirus programs, firewalls, VPNs, and proxy tools, can mess with Multilogin. These apps might stop Multilogin from working right or make things run slower.

Here are some quick fixes:

  • Uninstall these apps
  • If you do need them, disable the apps temporarily or add Multilogin to their whitelist in the settings

This should help resolve the issue and keep everything running smoothly!

How to resolve conflicts with 3rd-party apps on Windows:

Antivirus apps
Firewalls
VPNs
  1. Go to “Settings” → “Privacy & security” → “Windows Security” → “Virus & threat protection”

  1. Choose “Manage settings” and then turn off all the parameters in the displayed window
  1. Go to “Settings” → “Privacy & security” → “Windows Security” → “Firewall & network protection”

Turn off VPN extensions in browser: don't forget to check and turn off VPN extensions that you installed in your browser, for example, Chrome:

How to resolve conflicts with 3rd-party apps on macOS:

macOS security system
Antivirus apps
Firewalls
VPNs

If the application got restricted from the macOS security system, you can access it by the following way:

  1. Open “System Settings” → “Privacy & Security” → “Security”
  2. Click “Open anyway” for the apps

We recommend to change “Allow applications from” value to “App Store & Known Developers”.

Open anyway
  1. Go to “Finder” → “Go” → “Application”
  2. Right click the antivirus apps → “Move to Bin”

Some antivirus software for macOS has their own uninstallation tool (e.g., Kaspersky and Avast).

Antivirus
  1. Open “Apple menu” → “System Preferences” → “Network”
  2. Go to the “Firewall” tab and turn it off
Firewall

Uninstall VPN applications:

  1. Go to “Finder” → “Go” → “Application”
  2. Right-click the VPN apps → “Move to Bin”
Antivirus

Disable VPN applications: right-click the VPN apps on the menu bar → choose “Quit <name of app>”.

Turn off VPN extensions in browser: don't forget to check and turn off VPN extensions that you installed in your browser. This is an example for Safari browser:

  1. Choose “Safari” → “Settings” (or “Preferences”) → click “Extensions”
  2. To turn off an extension, deselect its checkbox

Check the ISP

ISP

Sometimes, internet service providers (ISPs) block proxy providers or even Multilogin itself. Here’s how to test and work around it:

  • Try connecting through a VPN: this can bypass ISP restrictions
  • Switch networks: use a different Wi-Fi, or turn your phone into a hotspot with mobile data
  • Check your speed: if your current ISP is slow, changing networks might also improve performance.

If the issue resolves with these steps, it’s likely your ISP causing the trouble.

Refresh components

Deps MLA

This action is completely safe! It refreshes the app components needed for Multilogin to work smoothly. No data will be lost during the process, so you're good to go! 😊

  2. Go the C:\Users\%username%\.multiloginapp.com\data directory
  3. Delete the deps folder

Alternatively, you can go to "My account" in the Multilogin app and click "Open logs directory", then close Multilogin. In the window that will open, go one folder up and enter the data folder. Afterwards, proceed from step 3.

  1. Close Multilogin
  2. Open your user directory in Finder
  3. Press Cmd + Shift + . (period) to show hidden files
